In this episode of ‘101 Facts About Suicide Squad’, we take a look at some of the facts about the film. First up is the fact that the Suicide Squad are a group of supervillains and anti-heroes who are secretly deployed by the government for black ops. They’re not a new metal group from the early noughties fresh from the pages of DC Comics comic books.
- As per reports, the name ‘Suicide Squad’ is actually an alternate name for ‘Task Force X’, which is an alternative name for the Suicide Squad in the comic book. This comes after a fan tweeted, “Suicide Squad is the first comic book group we do have super villains as the main characters this will.”
- Amanda Waller, the head honcho of the kill yourself team in ‘Suicide Squad’, is a high-ranking government official who basically tells the Suicide Squad what to do and where the bossy boots are. Waller has a nickname which is the wall, she’s not sure how well she’d respond to that nickname but it’s worth giving a go all in all.
- Viola Davis has been cast as Rick Flagg, the commander of the Suicide Squad, in the upcoming film ‘Suicide Squad’. Viola, who played Green Lantern in ‘Green Lantern’, said, “I’m so excited to be a part of the DC Universe.” She added, “It’s an honour and a privilege to be part of this project.”
- Joel Kinnaman was in the killing which is a TV show by the way not some horrible murder one of the episodes Joel starred in was called ‘El Diablo’ which is in fact the name of the other Suicide Squad E’s. Joel was training with the Navy SEALs when he got the role in the show.
- Harleen Quinzel fell in love with the Joker number 22 Harley Quinn then broke the Joker out of Arkham Asylum to become his girlfriend and sidekick. This was all detailed in a comic by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm named ‘Mad Love’ which was actually award-winning when you know puddin number 23 in other versions of this story.
- Actress Margot Robbie, who played Harley Quinn in ‘Suicide Squad’, has revealed that she was originally meant to be a small cameo in one episode of ‘Batman the Animated Series’ way back in 1992 in the episode Joker’s favour. She added that Margot gave Harley Quinn’s back to Kevin Smith’s daughter who’s actually called Harley Quinn and would like to play her someday.

- Actor Jai Courtney, who plays ‘Captain Boomerang’ in ‘Suicide Squad’, has revealed that he cringed when he was asked to play the character in the film. “I cringed because it’s the meaning of life he’s played by,” he said. “He’s an antral character who actually appears in this actual film,” Jai added.
- Actress Cara Delevingne has said she was ready to beat people up at the end of her audition for the role of June Moon in ‘Suicide Squad’. “David Ayer sparked a fury in me you got,” she added. Cara further said that she was asked to reread the part of Martha from ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf’ to reflect June’s split personality.
- Actress Cara Delevingne, who’ll play the role of ‘Suicide Squad’ enchantress in the upcoming film, has said that she was so furious when she was arrested that she wanted to come to get her out of jail. “I was…furious that sounds like a weird as hell audition great excuse for getting arrested though good work,” she added.

The film also stars Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Idris Elba and Robert De Niro. Will Smith had a fake promotional poster for ‘Batman V Superman’ in 2007 which was actually made nine years later and is in the same cinematic universe as ‘Suicide Squad’.
- Actor Will Smith, while talking about his upcoming film ‘Suicide Squad’, said that he never met Jared Leto that he was always in character. “There he takes to my love a song called the kit are you…too young number 78 Leto very kindly sent his cast members and gifts while filming,” he added.

- Jared Leto, who plays Joker in ‘The Joker’, has revealed that he shaved his entire body except his head hair to prepare for the role. “I was going to be topless a lot,” he added. Jared further said that he started filming the film within two months and started working out in two months.
- The Joker’s clothing is directly inspired from the Batman comics and his gun is a gold-plated ak-47 which can also be seen and directed David Eya. “I want to build a team with some very bad people who I think can do some good they’re bad guys for bad guys don’t forget we’re the bad guys worst of the worst,” Eya said.
- ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ director David L Taylor has revealed that he even made his co-stars physically fight each other in rehearsals. “I said, ‘If you want me to be in a movie of my say no core least say yes but go to the gym’,” he added. Taylor further said that he made them physically fight because he was angry.
