The game was also nominated for the Golden Joystick Award for Best Strategy Game and Best Story in 2011 and was nominated for both the awards too. It was also named as one of the best games of the year in 2011.

They did consider having some post-game stuff as dlc actually but apparently a lot of the dlc creation time was eaten into by having to fix bugs.
- The first one dead money is actually based on several movies in it the courier is stuck inside an abandoned casino with explosives attached to their neck forced to open its vault. The casino is called madre a reference to the 1948 film the treasure of madre which shares similar treasure hunting themes the explosives in the neck bit was more informed by movies like battle royale and cube number 53 in the wine cellar.
- There are 15 10 encounters in the base game of the new vegas video game. One of these features is in the form of a character running out of a cave whose name is two bears high-fiving this is in reference to a mod created by a fan the only purpose of which is to allow you to answer that one of doc’s rorschach tests at the beginning looks like two bears.
- The number 59 in the cave of abaddon in the lonesome road is a reference to one of the most heartbreaking moments of all time the jurassic park episode of futurama number 61. A mummified dog called seymour is another reference to the moment in the futurama episode.
- The ending of the video game’vault 11′ has been compared to the end of the planet of the apes in the film ‘Planet of the Apes’. The video shows the player choosing to end the lonesome road by nuking both the ncr and the perk’s legion. It also shows the wild wasteland on the ending slide.
- Vault 64, vault 19 and vault 22 appear in the video game vault 64. vault 19 also appears in this game and has an interesting quirk it had two overseers and two factions red and blue and vault-tec tried to subliminally turn them against each other and make them paranoid. vault 22 went to last of us and had a real fungus problem which in turn caused plants to rebel against the humans inside.
- Fallout 4’s assets and its old engine number 68 have been used by an unofficial fan-made mod called fallout to new Vegas. The mod uses the same engine and style as fallout 3 fusing the two together number 17 development for the mod began in 2012 and took four years to create. - monty python number 81 has been referenced in a video game easter egg. The video shows a character in the game saying, “I’m an ambassador not a doctor.” This comes after a fan tweeted, “Oh man I love monty Python number 81 finally.” Another user wrote, “You can stumble upon maude’s muggers a gang of three violent elderly women.”
- There are at least 50 video game characters named after songs from the 1940s and 50s. There are also some named after song not of the era like they are the champions. Some think this is a reference to the character of penny from the online series dr horrible sing-along blog which would make sense asfelicia day plays both characters number 87 weirdly the mother and father of the lone wanderer of fallout 3 can be found in fault 21.
- The weapon the fat man is named after is a weapon that launches nuclear missiles and takes its name from the bomb that was dropped on hiroshima by the US towards the end of world war ii. This was renamed to the nuka launcher instead for well obvious reasons number nine t you want to be careful when roaming around the wasteland.
- The threshold of any armor in the game number 92 originally though this was going to come at a big cost josh sawyer almost gave the remnants armor set the same poison chalice effect as the auditore cape from assassin’s creed 2 meaning that while wearing it everybody in thegame becomes hostile towards you it was removed though.
- The White Glove Society was originally called sawneys the white glove society used to be cannibals and indeed still could be so so sorney’s is likely a reference to sony bean a 16th century scotsman who apparently killed and ate over a thousand people don’t know why I laughed but that is a lot number 98 there’s a very small gang in the sewers called the greasers.
- The mysterious stranger perk in Fallout New Vegas was originally going to be coded into the game that should you try to kill the drifter in bats in a shock twist the mysterious changer would appear but this time tried to kill you instead to protect his son. This was then cut due to time constraints and probably caused more problems than it solved.
- A video of a group of people ganging up on each other has gone viral on social media. In the video, the group can be heard saying, “Hey it’s a cool, we’re a cool group…it’s good good people okay in the meantime.” The video was shared by a user who wrote, “I’ll see you there probably enjoy bye you.”
